Current Goaltender Consultant for the Lethbridge Hurricanes in WHL. Kevin has been coaching goaltenders since 2003 following his retirement from hockey. He played four years in the WHL with stops in Prince George and Kelowna. As a Kelowna Rocket, he was twice named a WHL All-Star and in 1999 was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 7th round, 189th overall of the NHL Entry Draft. He played two years in the Canucks farm system (ECHL) after which Kevin began his coaching career by studying and working under Ian Clark (Current Columbus Blue Jackets Goalie Coach). He has expertise in the instruction of numerous goalkeepers at the Pro, Junior and College/University levels of play and owns GDI (Goalie Development Inc.), based out of Calgary where he resides with his wife Sarah and 2 daughters Calleigh and Lauren. Kevin previously spent 6 seasons as the Goaltending Consultant with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL.
Lead Goaltender Consultant
Former Goaltender Consultant for the Jr. A Calgary Canucks in the AJHL. “Kash” has been coaching goalies for over 8 years. Along the way he has coached several goalies from novice to junior level. He has maintained a loyal clientele in the southern Alberta area. Keven has a great understanding and grasp of goaltending technique and at the same time is eager to learn as much as he can. Keven displays a level of professionalism and skill. His high intensity on-ice instruction is what brings out the best in his students. He has spent time in Lethbridge and has been a full-time Consultant with GDI for the past 6 years.
Cam is a 5 year alumni of the WHL playing for Edmonton, Kamloops, Portland and Medicine Hat. He then went on to complete 5 years at MRU and then most recently playing Professional hockey for the Fort Wayne Komets in the ECHL. Cam is a welcome addition to our GDI Staff for private lessons as well as our Academy Program.
Tyler comes to GDI from Winnipeg where he worked full-time for GDI Goaltending in Winnipeg conducting private lessons, Academy Sessions and Camps. He is attending school in Calgary and will be doing private lessons during the winter on Monday and Wednesdays before taking on a larger role in the off-season. Before joining GDI in Winnipeg Tyler played Junior A in the MJHL. Tyler is a welcome addition to our staff with plenty of instructional experience!
Ravi will be conducting 1-on-1 lessons as well as instructing at our Clinics, Academy and Camps. Ravi is currently attending Mount Royal University after competing in the AJHL for 5 season with the Calgary Mustangs | Fort McMurray Oil Barons | Spruce Grove Saints. His positive attitude and environment make him a great role model and mentor to young aspiring goaltenders.
Caylin brings 10 years of goaltender coaching and hockey development to GDI. His experience includes on-ice instructional coaching, off-ice technical coaching, strength and conditioning, as well as consulting for various teams and organizations through all levels of hockey. Caylin’s playing experience includes Junior “A”, NCAA, and ECHL. Caylin coaches in a positive, learning oriented environment. He believes building confidence and increasing self assurance while also stressing the importance of preparation, attention to detail, and competing every day.
Brent is a former WHL goaltender for the Calgary Hitmen before moving on to play goal for the Sait Trojans in the ACAC. He has been instructing goaltenders for the past 8 years through 1-on-1 lessons, Camps and Teams. He has rejoined GDI to conduct private lessons.
Austin is a former Western Hockey League (Swift Current Broncos) and Junior A goaltender (Vernon Vipers) who went on to play for the SAIT Trojans the past two seasons. During his playing career Austin has been both a student and Instructor at GDI including our Academy Program, Summer Camps as well as private lessons. Austin is currently the coach for the NWCAA Midget AAA Flames.
Kyle has recently joined the GDI Staff and is a former WHL standout for the Swift Current Broncos where he played for 5 years. He went on from there to play 4 years with Lakehead University in the CIS. After finishing his education with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology he played 1 year of Pro in the Netherlands and has now returned to Calgary to continue his coaching career. Kyle has experience at high levels of hockey and is a former Nashville Predators Draft Pick in 2004. He has incredible knowledge to pass on as well as a great demeanour for working with aspiring goaltenders.
